Loans Grow 30.62% YOY, Amar Bank Outpaces Digital Industry Growth

Amar Bank

Jakarta, 25 May 2026. PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk (“Amar Bank”, IDX: AMAR), a digital banking pioneer focused on the retail and MSME segments, delivered a strong 30.62% year-on-year surge in gross loans to Rp4.16 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. This powerful credit expansion served as the main engine for the Bank's growth, driving total assets up by 34.72% YoY to Rp6.93 trillion and resulting in a net profit of Rp71.12 billion.

The Bank's revenue performance remained solid throughout the quarter, expanding its market share in high-yielding segments. Amar Bank’s operating income rose 13.82% YoY to Rp527.76 billion, while net interest income (NII) increased 15.58% YoY to Rp370.20 billion. This combination of double-digit loan growth and expanding margins underscores a highly scalable and lucrative business model heading into the rest of the year.

President Director Amar Bank Vishal Tulsian said the Bank’s Q1 2026 performance reflected the results of its strategy to expand digital financial services, strengthen strategic partnerships, and maintain a prudent balance between growth and risk management. “In banking, healthy growth is not only reflected in loan expansion, but also in delivering consistent value to our shareholders. This profitability is supported by a sustainable funding structure.”

Vishal added that the customer-focused approach continues to shape the Bank’s digital strategy, leveraging technology and data insights to respond swiftly to evolving retail and MSME needs.

Amid intensifying competition for deposits in Indonesia’s banking industry, Amar Bank recorded a jump in third-party funds (Dana Pihak Ketiga/DPK). The Bank’s DPK rose 115.46% year-on-year to Rp2.91 trillion, marking a vital structural shift toward a more sustainable and lower-cost funding base. This success in raising public funds has materially improved Amar Bank's liquidity profile, with the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) improving significantly to 142.56%, compared with 235.04% in the same period last year, providing a more balanced liquidity foundation to support future credit expansion without compromising stability.

Amar Bank’s aggressive profit and loan growth did not come at the expense of asset quality. The Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio declined sharply to 0.86%, compared with 1.48% in March 2025, demonstrating top-tier risk mitigation.

SVP Finance Amar Bank,  David Wirawan added that the decline in NPLs showed the Bank’s loan expansion remained selective and prudent.

“Asset quality remains one of our key priorities. The decline in NPLs amid loan growth shows that Amar Bank continues to maintain risk discipline, including by strengthening its credit analysis and portfolio management processes,” David said.

From a capital perspective, Amar Bank recorded a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 99.17%, well above the regulatory minimum. This strong capital position gives the Bank room to continue investing in technology, digital product development, and risk management capabilities.

Looking ahead, Amar Bank will continue to strengthen its deposit-gathering capabilities, extend credit in a measured manner, and develop digital services that are relevant to retail and MSME customers. With an improving funding structure, maintained asset quality, and solid capital position, Amar Bank is better positioned to drive sustainable growth.
